Milestone day, we’ve reached episode 20 of the new era. Yay!

Do you remember when you turned 20?
For me the year was 1987 and it was my sophomore year at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Back then my biggest concern was earning enough money for school and wondering if I was going to pass Calculus 2. I did by the way… barely. Calculus was easy, it’s the math that’s hard.
So today’s writing exercise, if you chose to accept it, is what would you advise your 20 year old self.
Dear 20 Year Old Self
Dear Kevin,
You don’t know me. Yet. But I need to share some advice with you that will be helpful in the next 29 years. I’m going to be vague so there are no spoilers. Oh and that'll make more sense in a few more years.
First, switch your minor from math to mass media. Trust me. Mass media skills will be more important in your future endeavors.
Next learn how to keep your checkbook balanced and don’t get a credit card right away. Keeping your finances in order is more important than you think.
There is going to come a time in your life when you’re on your own. It’s going to be hard, but you will get through it. Just know there will be people who you can call friend. They will come and go out of your life, but they are there. You won’t truly be lonely, even though at times it will feel that way.
Being unique is okay. Feeling different is okay. Don’t let fear keep you from being yourself and being happy. With the help of your friends you can overcome your shyness. You will learn how to be less introverted, but it will take time.
So there’s a short bit of advice.
