Plausible Analytics

I gave Plausible Analytics (plausible.io) a trial run on our website this month as an alternative to Google Analytics (analytics.google.com). I’ve used Google Analytics for years but would like to have something more privacy oriented.

Plausible is lightweight, open sourced, and very privacy focused. Its fully GDPR, CCPA and PECR compliant and doesn’t use cookies. Plausible does have its limitations though, and those limitations might keep me from switching to it completely. I hope to write up a review for the podcast soon.

Plausible is worth a look if you just need simple visitor stats.

I’ve already switched the website over to another analytics service and will give it a month trial.

More on that later.
